This is a Clouded Leopard named Tate who also lives at the EFBC in Rosamond, CA. He also has a mate who will give him some cubs soon and I cannot wait! Clouded leopards are extremely rare and even in captivity they're difficult to view - they tend to hide wherever they can and aren't very social. But on the day I took his picture Tate was a happy boy, the addition of his new lady friend, Kyoke, has really brought out the rascal in him. I have a few more pictures of Tate and Kyoke planned for the gallery next year. With their beautiful markings and expressive eyes, clouded leopards are amazing cats.

Wow, it's so realistic, it looks like a photo! And the details, from the fur to the reflections of cage bars in it's eyes, it's all very lovely :D

Oh my what a beauty! Love clouded leopards! I love how you depicted him gripping that trunk, you can see his paws really working there. Such a beautiful creature, awesome job! I thought this was a photograph when I clicked on it!

Thanks!  I'm in the process of doing him again in a full body pose.  I love their thick knobby legs and long tails.  And the markings!  I was lucky to get great reference shots of him as he was really active that day.
